In my own words the meaning of tessellation is a picture that is duplicated and reflected enough times that it is no longer the same picture and it is able to give a different feeling or emotion than the original picture does when it is by itself. To create the tessellations in Photoshop I made a new file then used the ruler to place guide lines how ever many inches apart I wanted. Then I cropped my image and sized it to fit in the square and I dragged it over and placed it in a square. Then I duplicated the layer and then went to edit then transform to reflect it horizontally or vertically. After I did that four times I selected each layer hit merge layers and then duplicated all of them at once and reflected them against the original four pictures and I repeated that process till all the space was filled up. I liked how all the images come together to make something completely different, my favorite image was the third one with the orange flower because of how vibrant the orange is and the way it contrasts with the blue sky. I struggled with duplicating each layer because I wasn't selecting them all but instead doing each one individually and that became a tedious task. If I had to do it over again I would use the image with the orange flower to create a more complex tessellation.

I learned that doing portraits takes a lot of patients and it is extremely helpful to have illustrations of the poses you want your subject to do. Another good technique to use when shooting portraits is to use a reflector because at can brighten up the subjects face and make their skin look more smooth. I didn't have to do too much to retouch any of the photographs but I did zoom in on the subjects face and use the blemish tool in Photoshop to mask some of the small imperfections that were present. The average wage of a portrait photographer is $40,280 and they are hired for just about any special occasion such as weddings, senior pictures, sports teams, new family photos, etc.
The food I photographed was crackers topped with Brie cheese with some topped with fresh rosemary and others with a cut tie wedge, but all covered with a drizzle of with raw local honey. I learned from the video we watched on food photography that it is important to depict fresh food and use the proper aperture to bring out the detail in the food. I learned how to use the reflectors and how to give my pictures a warm glow versus a colder more natural alternative. I learned that all major food business hire food photographers to advertise their food and it is a growing field of photography. I think I was successful with my food photography because the pictures came out the way I wanted.
In this project we created our names using representations of the alphabet that we could find (sometimes create) with objects outside. After taking the pictures I cropped them as tight as possible and made them black and white then saved them to my desktop. Next I opened up photoshop and saved the template for a four letter name to my desktop and dragged it to photoshop. Then I dragged and fitted each picture in the template and I was done. The step I was unclear on was that we had to make the pictures black and white, I found out that instruction too late and had to restart. I am most proud of successfully cropping the photos so they have little distortion. I could have done better on the photograph of the "N" made out of cones by making it more straight. Overall I think the project turned out well.
This is an image of where I see myself in ten years. For my career in ten years I see myself as a National Park Ranger specializing in emergency response and search and rescue. I go rock climbing as mush as possible and I am strong and healthy. I spend the majority of my time in the wilderness breathing in clean fresh air. I see myself living in a small cabin in the forest with a spectacular mountain view! In this image I used the Layer Mask/ photoshop techniques to edit myself into a picture with Will Ferrell. This image is from a scene in the movie step brothers where the two characters are in a job interview and try to get a job. First I uploaded the image with Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly then I uploaded an image of myself on its own tab in photoshop. I set the images to the size I needed then cut my face out and dragged it on top of John C. Reilly and used the paint brush two erase the parts I didn't want. That simple!
